National House Building Council (NHBC):The NHBC is the name behind raising the standards of 80% of the new and newly converted homes in the UK. Quite simply if a builder doesn’t have NHBC accreditation, like Cubby, you should be very wary of using them.
Quality and Environmental Management Standards: Cubby Construction has full ISO 9001:2008 accreditation. ISO 9001 ensures a structured system of controlled procedures is in place within a company, covering everything from tendering through to the completion of projects. Cubby has also received accreditation for the extremely demanding ISO 14001:2004 environmental standard. ISO 14001 specifies stringent managerial systems for environmentally responsible businesses, and covers all areas of activity, waste handling and recycling, as well as a company’s approach to energy saving and fuel use.
The Contractors’ Health and Safety Assessment Scheme:The Contractors’ Health and Safety Assessment Scheme, ‘CHAS’,has become established as the market leader for health and safety pre-qualification in the UK. Membership of the non-profit scheme assures customers of the competency of suppliers to deliver projects to benchmark levels of Health and Safety practice.
Trade Associations: Cubby Construction is an active member of a number of trade associations, ranging from Associate Membership of the UK SIPs Association, through the Concrete Society to the Road Hauliers’ Association. These important bodies play a key role in ensuring members work to consistent standards, meeting relevant legislation and using the latest techniques.
Positive Partnerships: The Company has built long-standing, trusting relationships with a number of key clients. These have resulted in contractual partnerships for ongoing maintenance of large scale projects, often originally built by Cubby Construction.
Typical amongst these partnerships are a substantial longterm contract for Center Parcs near Penrith; a maintenance contract for the Ministry of Defence; and the Spirit Partnership, a cohesive group comprising Structural Engineers, Architects and trusted Contractors working together to deliver major housing projects for Cumbria’s key Housing Associations and Local Authorities.
