As we welcome August, the entire Cubby workforce continues to be working hard on a wide variety of large and small scale projects. July was another busy month and we have some latest news, recent activities, and projects that we would like to share with you.
We are absolutely delighted to have won the recent Kingmoor Cup. The event was organised and run by Carlisle Youth Zone and saw 10 local businesses go head to head across a series of 10 challenges.
There was a mixture of physical, mental and skilled challenges which amongst others, included a bushtucker eating trial, penalty shootout, music quiz, egg and spoon race. We were naturally very happy to win the scrapheap challenge which involved constructing a local iconic building out of scrap materials.
Teams consisted of 4 representatives from each business as well as 2 children from CYZ, making teams of 6.
We would like to thank Carlisle Youth Zone and everybody involved in the event. It was a fantastic and insightful day and for Team Cubby to win made it even sweeter. We look forward to next years Kingmoor Cup as reigning champions.
Schools & Public Sector
Now that the schools have broken up for the summer, this is very often the time of year where schools look to make sure that essential construction work, renovations and refurbishments are made in time for the start of the new academic year.
We were approached and have subsequently began work at three schools in Scotland; Stirches Primary School, Selkirk High School, and Priorsford Primary School. These projects include complete classroom updates and renovations and the most crucial aspect is time-frame.
In Scotland, the schools start again during the second week in August. Completing this work successfully, on time, and to our usual exemplary standards will demonstrate our ability to turnaround projects even with the tightest of deadlines.
This also demonstrates our supportive and proactive approach in offering our services on significant and supportive projects within the local community and the public sector.
We fully understand the unique requirements of businesses and organisations operating within the public sector and have the experience to handle projects large and small. Take a look at some of our case studies detailing some of our previous works in the education, healthcare and public sector.
Border Union Show
At the end of last month, we also attended the Border Union Agricultural Show in Kelso, Scotland. The traditional farming show exhibits over 200 trade stand showcasing a wide variety of businesses and organisations who work in, or offer services for the farming and agriculture sector.
As well as offering a wide array of entertainment, food, drink, crafts and gifts, there were over 150 trade stands with a focus on horticulture, farming and agriculture.
The Cubby stand showcased our overall service offering, promoting the variety of services we are able to offer whilst highlighting our work in the agricultural sector. We have substantial experience in providing services specific to this sector and our steelwork fabrication team, among others, are experienced in delivering to the specific needs of the industry.
We have recently completed a sizeable project for a private client which has included a complete refurbishment of the property, both internally and externally, with the main focus being to create full and modern disabled access across the entire property.
We offer services in the complete spectrum of residential developments. With a well-deserved reputation for workmanship and excellent attention to detail, we ensure that all residential property projects that we undertake become cherished family homes.
Whether the property is a unique one-off prestige home, or part of a large estate of social housing for a local authority or housing association, we have the track-record to deliver. Find out more information on our services in this area.
