We’re delighted to announce that the Yewdale Road, Housing Development Project in Coniston has been shortlisted for the Cumbria Sub Regional award at the Northwest Construction Awards!
This project involved the construction of 7 new build dwellings, built over suspended floor beams with traditional cavity construction. Making sure the external appearance ‘fitted in’ with the picturesque local surroundings and providing low-cost homes for residents.
Local slate was utilised for the roofing materials and to form the weathering for the window cills. UPVC windows were chosen that had the look of timber windows so the benefits of no maintenance and low ‘U’ values could be met while obtaining the external appearance.
The external façade was finished with a high specification self-coloured wet dash ‘K’rend to give the same appearance as some of the older properties but with the benefits of a modern render system.
Each plot benefited from PV solar panels and a higher than usual specification for the kitchen cabinetry.
Landscaping for up to 12 cars to off street park, complete with external EV charging points for the occupiers.
