We were delighted to host the Discovery Childcare nursery last week, for an insight into the construction industry. On Tuesday 7 June 2022, this well-respected local contractor, provided 15 nursery children with an opportunity to sit on a digger and fit out a bug hotel, with cosy bug friendly rooms. A fun day for all, with plenty of photographs and opportunity to colour-in, as a reminder of this experience.
Rebecca Barwick, Nursery Practitioner at Discovery Childcare said: “It’s important to engage the children by following their interests and our staff scaffold their learning by allowing them to take safe risks and lead their own exploration.
The children loved their visit to Cubby Construction last week, it’s the first time most have been on a large vehicle like this. The bug hotel’s they have created will take pride of place in the garden outside the nursery, where the children can keep an eye on the bugs comings and goings.”
