The Carleton Hall Farm development delivered a new build Tesco Express convenience store, strategically positioned to serve the expanding residential population on the south-eastern fringe of Penrith.
The scheme provided essential local retail, improved accessibility, and created long-term employment opportunities.
It also demonstrated effective stakeholder engagement, sensitive design integration, and robust project delivery within a live residential setting.
The scheme comprised the design and construction of a modern single-storey convenience store with supporting infrastructure:
• Retail unit shell and fit-out to Tesco Express specification.
• Formation of 19 car parking spaces, including disabled provision.
• New vehicular and pedestrian access from the A686.
• Installation of retaining walls, external drainage, and hard landscaping.
The store created approximately 20 new employment opportunities across a mix of full and part-time roles, contributing directly to the local economy.
“This development provided a much-needed convenience store to serve the growing Carleton Hall community. The project team delivered with professionalism, ensuring minimal disruption during construction while creating a high-quality retail facility that complemented Penrith town centre.”
