Civil Engineering Contracts Manager

Do you have experience of managing commercial risk and opportunity in a Civil Engineering environment?

As the successful Contracts Manager you will be responsible for managing all commercial reporting, management of risk and opportunity and general commercial administration. You’ll have great communication skills to for liaising with clients, contractors and project / site managers.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

LMA

  • Give clear direction on company’s core values and focusing vision
  • Provide adequate resource, time, and attention
  • Set expectations and communication clearly
  • Keep the circles connected through expectations, meetings, and conversations
  • Continually improve the team through recognition of positive behaviour and improving negative behaviour
  • Achieve 1 team ethos of Cubby Construction Limited.

Project SHEQ

  • Ensure that the project meets a high quality standard and the client specification
  • Review all contract requirements, construction and environmental plans, risk assessments, method statements for all allocated projects and tasks.

Plan and Coordinate Project Reporting

  • Ensure suitable management of the site from setup to completion
  • Oversee projects from the start through to completion, ensuring work is completed to programme and within budget
  • Ensure site managers are undertaking coordination meetings and site inspections as required
  • Address any persistent management concerns or any health, safety, or environmental performance concerns as required
  • Working on site and in the office
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, project team members and all stakeholders
  • Report performance KPIs to the Head of Civils and Construction on a regular basis as required.

Technical and Commercial Support

  • Supporting all aspects of site operations
  • Supporting with technical support on tenders and commercial bids to help bring in new business
  • Monitor the effectiveness and compliance of site management with regard to their agreed duties
  • Resolve queries, complaints, and problems quickly and where possible to the satisfaction of the client and stakeholders
  • Escalate design and production issues as required to ensure early, satisfactory resolution
  • Work closely with the rest of the team in the business and third parties to ensure timely review, application for and approval of any variations etc
  • Making sure construction projects meet agreed technical and quality standards
  • Review all contract requirements, construction and environmental plans, risk assessments, method statements for all allocated projects and tasks.

Stakeholder Relations

  • Coordination with client, client representative and subcontractors
  • Professionally represent Cubby Construction at site and project meetings as required or appropriate
  • Resolve queries, complaints, and problems quickly and where possible to the satisfaction of the client and stakeholders
  • Address any persistent management concerns or any health, safety, or environmental performance concerns as required
  • Ensure that the project meets a high standard and the client specification
  • Liaising with customers, clients and principal designers as required
  • Making sure construction projects meet agreed technical and quality standards
  • Review all contract requirements, construction and environmental plans, risk assessments, method statements for all allocated projects and tasks.

Record Keeping

  • Address any persistent management concerns or any health, safety, or environmental performance concerns as required
  • Maintaining contractual records.

  • Have significant technical expertise and knowledge of civils projects and operations;
  • Be a self-starter with a strong work ethic;

  • Ensure that communication between all parties is open and honest;
