Cubby Construction, is taking proactive steps to prioritise mental health and wellbeing among its workforce. In collaboration with the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity’s #MakeItVisible team, Cubby Construction hosted an event aimed at breaking down the barriers surrounding mental health in the workplace.

Scheduled for 18 March 2024, from 1 to 3 pm at Cubby Construction’s headquarters in Carlisle, the event provided an invaluable opportunity for employees to engage with the #MakeItVisible team and learn about the support services available to them.

The Cubby Construction Mental Wellbeing Champions extended a warm invitation to the entire company, encouraging all employees to participate in welcoming the #MakeItVisible team as part of their North West tour. The event offered insightful discussions, personal anecdotes, and practical resources to empower individuals and promote mental wellbeing.

Through this initiative, Cubby Construction aimed to foster a culture of open dialogue surrounding mental health, providing employees with the tools and support they needed to navigate the challenges they may face. With approximately 50 employees in attendance, the event signified a significant step towards raising awareness and breaking the stigma associated with mental health in the construction industry.

During the event, the #MakeItVisible team delivered an informal and informative ‘Toolbox Talk’, emphasising the importance of prioritising health and wellbeing in the workplace. Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to engage with the team on a one-to-one basis, further facilitating open discussion and support.
